The album entitled The Best is Yet to Come consists of songs written by Carl Trivette and features the Rocky Bottom Boys. Regarding the album's main song (also titled "The Best is Yet to Come"), Mountain Man Carl says the following:
I shall never forget the day we laid to rest, my wife and mother of our four children, Marilee Rasnake Trivette. It was near the place of her birth in Russell County, Virginia. The morning was cold and snowy, as a heavy snow had fallen over night and was still coming down. The cemetery official advised no committal be held at the gravesite, rather inside the mausoleum. As we exited the mausoleum, our immediate view was that of a snowy mound atop a hill just a short distance away. Our children commented that this segment of the funeral was the most memorable time of all, and I agreed. When we traveled back to the gravesite, we talked of the day when her soul and a glorified body would be reunited and of our being with her again. The thoughts of a new body, the resurrection and our new home in heaven made that graveside visit a warm and sweet place to be. Upon my return home, I went into "Rope Studio" and wrote a song. When my children heard it, they commented how it helped to erase the sadness of that internment morning…thus the song "The Best is yet to Come" was born.
